MY STORY

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

I was born and raised a forester's daughter in the Sierra Nevada and Appalachian Mountain ranges. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, I grew up skiing and became biking and kayaking enthusiast. After finishing my undergraduate studies in Integrative Arts at Penn State University, I moved to New York and began my career in the film and television industry as a graphic and scenic artist. An interest in ethnography led me to the graduate program in Folklore and Folklife at the University of Pennsylvania, where I learned the principles of fieldwork and the importance of story. When I completed my master’s degree, I returned to New York to continue my creative career.

Living in New York, surrounded by theaters, galleries and natural resources, I explore and enjoy the city's arts and culture as well as the state's trails and waterways. My unique education in folklore studies, graphic design and documentary filmmaking inspires my passion for short-form multimedia storytelling. Folklore is tradition and story artistically communicated from person to person. It withstood time because people remember great stories. They also remember great design. I combine multiple forms of media such as text, photos, video, animation and motion graphics in a single well-designed piece to tell an unforgettable story. I have produced projects from micro-documentaries to animated explainer videos for such organizations as the VA, Workman Publishing, EILEEN FISHER, PBS, CBS and HBO. Let's work together to create stunning multimedia content that tells the authentic story of you, your organization or your brand.
